The Market Product Manager’s (PM) main responsibility and function is to focus on the market-oriented, customer-centric management of all products and solutions that are used in the different market segments of a division. In addition, for certain market segments, the PM is also responsible to focus on the needs and the growth of certain assigned market segments.
Since existing products of one division can be used in markets managed by a different BBIO division, the PM is also responsible for those products marketed other divisions (the major user principle applies). The PM effectively manages a significant portfolio of products, services and solutions for maximum profitability and business growth impact. The PM develops and leads a market-driven future state of a portfolio and effectively executes (adapts) that plan in a dynamic and pro-active manner.
The PM understands and manages entire product lifecycle (existing and future) from long-term planning to new product development to managing current products to discontinuing or migrating products. The PM optimizes revenues and margins for his product portfolio by managing the product mix and maximizes GM, as well as achieves his targeted vitality rate.
