Director of eCommerce and digital Marketing 100% (m/f)


Your responsibilities

The Director of eCommerce is responsible for developing a comprehensive medium to long term eCommerce and Digital Strategy for the Human Milk portfolio and deliver topline growth in the online channel. The role entails setting the vision for the HM e-commerce business and digital strategy, always being at the front, championing new thinking and also making sure all of the business divisions and subsidiaries have knowledge, skills and infrastructure on business fundamentals.





  • Responsible for the strategic direction of the Human Milk e-Commerce business to achieve global sales goals and managing all aspects of the eCommerce business including:

    • Business planning, content strategy and development

    • Promotion strategy

    • Other online Marketing and customer service

    • Website design and web technologies


  • Generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase eCommerce

    sales and profitability

  • Ownership and management of:

    • Customer Experience including Design & Aesthetics, Content, Navigation, Information Architecture, Branding/Marketing, Performance, Functionality

    • Internet marketing including social media integration

    • Technical Infrastructure, Extensive knowledge of e-commerce technology and sophisticated analytics

    • SEO/SEM/PPC measurements and monitoring methodologies


  • Develop and oversee the effective planning, QA and execution of content across the websites and online marketing campaigns to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of all web content publishing

  • Identify new areas of eCommerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking

  • Manage all aspects of web analytics related to eCommerce and communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership and cross-functional partners

  • Show leadership, innovation and process improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with the regional Marketing & Sales Teams to ensure best possible alignment on Go-to-market initiatives across channels and regions

  • Partner with key cross-functional teams and regions to ensure all relevant organizational goals and implications are factored into eCommerce projects

  • Acting as a project manager to evaluate, prioritize, develop, manage, implement and test eCommerce initiatives in collaboration with the regions

  • Provide expertise on current eCommerce industry best practices. Facilitate best practice sharing. Consult on cross-functional projects to ensure eCommerce principles are incorporated

  • Build and direct a cohesive team of internal and external personnel to effectively develop eCommerce solutions

    Direct and manage internal and external teams


Your qualifications



  • Ecommerce & digital marketing functional leadership (> 10 years )

  • Experience with B2C and B2B eCommerce and 5 – 10 years of experience in managing Websites (Technical Structure, Design & Aesthetics, Content, Navigation, Information Architecture, Branding/Marketing, Performance)

  • Higher Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Marketing with Online Marketing experience

  • Demonstrates strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify,

    prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment, strong collaboration skills

  • Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience interpreting test results & drawing conclusions and specifying technical changes

  • Strong independent decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills

  • Experience and in depth understanding with/of:

    • PPC - Management of Pay per click programs and demonstrate successful link building campaigns

    • Web analytics tools for example: Urchin, Webtrends, Ominiture

    • CMS and understanding of the impact they have on SEO

    • Search engines, search engine optimization and factors that influence high rankings in Google


  • Ability to perform click through rate, conversion, spend and creative analysis to identify growth/optimization opportunities

  • Ability to compile and analyze search data and metrics and make decisions regarding campaign direction

  • Influencing and stakeholder management skills, ability to collaborate with the regions

  • Outstanding customer service skills through Internet Marketing best practices that result in customer acquisition, retention and growth

  • Ability to lead and develop a Team in a growing and changing Environment
