•In partnership with the Development & Commercial teams leads generation and update of target product profiles and drives development of the program strategy and its integrated development plan, ensuring consistency with the target product profile as well as cross-functional alignment

•Drives and/or coordinates development of strategic documents and prepares for phase transitions/tollgates in collaboration with the Development teams

•Accountable for quality and accuracy of program plan and forecast in enterprise planning systems and providing guidance to maintain realistic program plans ensuring cross-functional alignment

•Drives team objective setting, prioritization and tracking, collaborates with teams to identify key program issues. Independently leads ad-hoc cross-functional sub-teams and task forces to address and resolve issues

•Drives risk assessment and contingency planning and communicates program status with the respective stakeholders in a transparent and timely manner

•Leads or supports preparation of comprehensive program recommendations, board meeting presentations and updates for governance boards

•May manage external partnerships/collaborations



Lead project management excellence and foster an enterprise mindset

•Contribute to the strategic direction and objectives for the function

•Responsible for establishing accurate plans (activities, timelines and resources) to enable execution according to the approved strategy. Supports R&D cross-functional planning, prioritization and operations. Identify operational and strategic risks, options for mitigation.

•Contributes with project management and drug development expertise to development of project management standards across the organization. Responsible for functional excellence by leading implementation of PM standards, R&D objectives, project documentation and communication as well as contributions to key updates and portfolio reviews. Supports portfolio assessment and prioritization.

•Provides Program Management expertise and leadership in the areas of planning, tracking, scenario-generation, contingency development, critical path analysis, and risk management

•Together with peers contributes to the development of best practices for realistic project planning to ensure accuracy of plans and financial forecasting while creating consistency and efficiency

•Partner with R&D teams to derive to high performing team spirit with a trusting relationship, sharing responsibility and working towards joint goal

Minimum requirementsEducation and/or professional experience: Advanced degree preferably in life science (or MBA with bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in life science)



Languages: Fluent English (oral and written)

Experience / Professional equirements: • 5-7 years pharma industry experience

• >3 yrs or equivalent multi- / cross-functional leadership experience on international and multidisciplinary drug development teams; excellent program/project mgmt. skills

• Detailed knowledge of special requirements of disease area specific drug development including advanced knowledge of regulatory and business requirements.

• Strength demonstrated in strategic decision making, scenario evaluation and contingency planning

• Advanced planning and tracking skills, ability to use proper tools in program management and capable of managing multiple programs with respect to priorities

• Strong interpersonal skills for bridging between scientific and business participants
