About the role:
This role supports the Planning & Steering team in all processes and deliverables related to financial planning and steering of Reinsurance. You will have the opportunity to get deep insights into the economics of the reinsurance business, and how individual products, assets and funding contribute to the overall value generation in the company. You will acquire in-depth technical expertise and learn how a leading reinsurer is financially steering and planning its business, working with industry experts of Costing/Pricing, Treasury, Risk Management, Asset Management and the Reinsurance Finance Community. Moreover, you will get to look into various valuations such as US GAAP and EVM (the Swiss Re internal economic framework). Your responsibilities will include:
• Participation in cross functional projects related to continued development of target setting, performance measurement and steering framework in Reinsurance
• Supporting the financial planning of the business and its balance sheets / income statements
• Supporting the preparation of meeting material for senior management and the board of directors with detailed planning financials and key performance indicator analysis
• Contributions to the continued standardizing and automation of deliverables including related governance
• Participation in various customized / ad-hoc financial analyses of financial performance. Such analysis might include scenario analysis, impact of parameter and method changes on the financial results, identifying business that can improve etc.
• Collaboration with all functions involved in planning and financial business steering to improve the integration and alignment of processes
About the team:
Within Reinsurance Financial Planning & Analysis, the Planning & Steering team supports managing and steering the financial performance of the Business Unit and Divisions within Reinsurance.
We are responsible for defining and executing the financial planning process within Reinsurance as well as supporting the financial steering of the business unit with forward-looking modelling, assessment of parameters and methods used in finance and pricing. We are a team of approximately 12 team member located in Zürich and Bangalore.
A position in our team gives you a wide range of opportunity to expand the understanding of the financial mechanics of the reinsurance business and the key drivers for profitability in (re-)insurance.
About You:
• Successfully completed university degree, preferably in finance, economics, mathematics, actuarial science or equivalent
• Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance
• Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
• Creative, showing a high degree of own initiative and proactivity
• Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
• Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment and to be mobile in terms of workplace or location
• Aptitude to express him-/herself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups
• Mature & decisive; Able to work with clients, business partners or senior colleagues
• Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment

• Excellent oral and written English skills
