Location


While the primary location is set to HQ Basel, Switzerland. We are keen to consider various alternative working locations including home office for this role.


Role purpose



  • Aligned to the Global Talent strategy, lead and drive the global Talent Development and Performance Management approach for Syngenta to enable delivery of the business strategy and business performance

  • Provide best practice and thought leadership to the broader community of practice across People & Organizational Development ( POD)  and HR 


 


Accountabilities

  • Drive a global and integrated process to manage talent (including, performance management, talent assessment, talent development, talent visibility and succession management) - right resource in the right place at the right time

  • Partner effectively with other parts of Syngenta's CoEs (C&B, POD) and HRBPs to offer a holistic, effective, current approach to talent management

  • Create/Provide/Review guidelines, processes, tools, metrics, communication, tollgates and maintenance to support the talent management strategy

  • Build capability of the HR Community on Talent management related topics

  • Drive embedding of Syngenta Backbone within Talent management approach

  • Represent leading edge thinking in area of expertise and build best practice sharing

 

Qualifications

 
Experience required 

  • 10+ years in a HR related field, in global multi-national organization; at least 5 years in a specialist role (Talent Development/Management a clear preference)

  • Sound experience in an international environment; has operated/managed effectively across geographies, cultures and organizational boundaries (able to navigate a matrix). 

  • Credible thought leader and subject matter expert in Talent Management with a proven history of designing and/or implementing effective Talent strategies 

  • Best practice experience and familiar with leading edge trends in the area of Talent Management. Able to manage effectively external suppliers

  • A proven track record of working with senior key stakeholders to develop solutions that are aligned with the overall business strategy. Effectively communicates at all level of the company

  • Understanding of Talent technologies or other integrated application platforms

  • Strong change management capability and a high degree of collaborative influencing skills

  • Strong in talent analytics; clear understanding of developments in the Talent and Performance arena globally

  • Proven ability to influence decisions & individuals


Minimum education and critical knowledge required 

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree 

  • Able to prioritize, delegate, take decisions with conflicting priorities and limited information

  • Deep understanding of performance and potential evaluation and of Leadership and potential assessment, development processes
