Position description


The Leisure Sales Switzerland unit has commercial responsibility for the revenues from B2B leisure sales accounts (such as tour operators, consolidators and travel agencies) in our Swiss home market. Through contractual agreements, strategic account development, customer portfolio optimization and direct customer contacts, we ensure that sustainable revenues are generated and that full advantage is taken of all available business potential for the Lufthansa Group and our joint-venture airline partners.


As the “Face to the Customer” of the Lufthansa Group in market Switzerland, we safeguard the Group’s business interests and implement its overall sales and distribution strategy by conducting a partnerly, fair and open dialogue with our customers. We further collect market feedback and our clients’ needs in order to create and develop customer centric solutions.


As our Leisure Account Executive, the prime focus of your work will be managing, operationally steering and strategically developing the assigned Leisure Sales account portfolio. You will be entrusted with analytical, conceptual and specific account management tasks that are designed to optimize our revenues and to implement the sales and distribution strategy. Further, you will take responsibility for cross-functional topics within the unit and towards various interfaces within SWISS and LHG.


Your Duties



  • Manage a portfolio of leisure accounts in market Switzerland for LHG and coordinate activities that enhance and develop the performance of joint market segments

  • Negotiate contracts with assigned agents and perform regular performance reviews

  • Develop assigned accounts according to the Leisure Sales and distribution strategy

  • Implement alternative distribution solutions and support the channel shift targets among travel agents in market Switzerland in tight collaboration with the distribution unit

  • Collaborate with partner carriers, implementing and representing their interests within the home market in order to develop and strengthen the market presence and performance of LHG and JVs in market Switzerland

  • Continuously conduct benchmarks within market Switzerland, passing on market feedback to respective departments and develop suitable measures

  • Coordinate, drive and support projects across all relevant departments within SWISS and LHG

  • Explore further revenue potential for the assigned portfolio and coordinate sales and marketing activities with GVA/LUG sales regions

  • Initiate and monitor optimal presentation and visibility of LHG and partner products  in the shelves of the assigned leisure accounts

  • Actively contribute to customer relations and sales activities, representing SWISS and LHG at fairs, B2B / B2C events and study trips


Requirements



  • Bachelor or Master degree or several years of professional experience with appropriate further education

  • German and English (both fluent in oral and written) – French is an asset

  • Professional experience in sales or distribution and preferably with knowledge of the airline or travel industry

  • Excellent conceptual and analytical capabilities

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Team player with customer and target oriented working style

  • Capability and willingness to deal with moving targets in an ever changing market environment

  • Operating and deciding fact based and with sound financial understanding and strong cost/benefit awareness

  • Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm

  • Flexibility to work occasionally outside office hours if required (e.g. events)
