  • iPrint is a research institute for digital printing and coating with a clear focus on inkjet technology. It is part of the School of engineering and Architecture of Fribourg, a member of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland. With a team of 30 persons, iPrint offers applied research to national and international industry partners in a wide range of applications, where inkjet is involved such a digital printing, printed electronics, coating and additive manufacturing. iPrint is the worldwide leader in inkjet training. To support our research team in an interdisciplinary environment, we are seeking for an experienced and versatile inkjet research engineer.


Domaine d'activités


As a staff member of our research team, you help to provide high quality results in research and teaching through your broad expertise in inkjet technology.


Tasks that fall within your area of responsibility are:



  • Project management (20%)

  • Research in the lab (60%)

  • Teaching in the inkjet training center (5%)

  • Publications and conference contributions (10%)

  • Supervision of student projects (5%)


As one of our inkjet specialists, you will support our application oriented research groups working on new inkjet research topics, which offers you to broaden rapidly your knowledge.


Exigences


For this position, we are looking for a research engineer with a degree in either printing, mechatronics, chemistry or material sciences. A PhD is appreciated. We expect that you …



  • have worked several years in an inkjet printing environment, Bachelor min. 5 years, Master and PhD. min 3 years

  • are a hands-on inkjet specialist being familiar with working with different inkjet print heads and print systems in different configurations

  • are able to characterize inks or develop printer modules

  • have creative ideas to solve challenging problems and to progress in technology and applications beyond the state of the art

  • are used to deliver results on time and in high quality, even in a vibrant project environment

  • appreciate taking over responsibility for your work and act proactive

  • are a team player always open to share all your knowledge with the team for the benefit and success of the institute

  • have good communication and language skills, English proficiency is mandatory, German or French is an advantage
