Perception Physiology department, we are looking for a
Junior Sensory Research Assistant .Demonstrating excellent
organizing skills and team spirit , you will assist the Sensory Specialist in all practical aspect of sensory testing and follow sensory laboratory good practices.           
Key responsibilities
 

  • Provide sensory support to innovation/renovation projects by playing an active part in cross-functional project teams and contribute to define Sensory Evaluation methodologies to apply.

  • Plan, organize and run panel sessions and sensory tests (build session in sensory software, prepare and code samples, provide samples to panelists)

  • Manage products under tests (procurement, storage and disposal of samples as well as compliance document tracking)

  • Analyse/interpret with Sensory Specialist and report results with recommendations (and present results if required).

  • As a responsible for Sensory laboratory, implement and nurture good laboratory practices and safe laboratory behaviour.

  • Screen, train and monitor performance of internal and external panels (or provide support on those activities).

  • Keep sensory equipment and facilities clean, organized and operational. Order material/supplies as required and suggests improvements.

  • Administers products under tests as well as sensory references (incl. manufacturing, ordering if relevant).

  • Maintain records of external panel attendance and administers panels information.


 
Education and experience
  

  • Master degree in Sensory Science and/or Food Science, ideally with a Sensory Major

  • An experience in sensory laboratory management is a plus

  • Technical training in scientific or food-related field would be a strong asset

  • Fluent in English, working level and full command of sensory terminology in French, any other language is an asset
