For its location in Allschwil (CH), close to Basel, Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is looking for a

Project Manager - Strategy

Main Responsibilities

This role would drive initiatives of EPD Strategy office working closely with cross functional teams across functions and regions. These organization critical initiatives will have sign off from EPD Senior Leadership team and direct impact on top and/or bottom line to EPD business: P rimary Duties and Responsibilities of the Job may include:

• Overall responsibility for driving initiatives across functions (Regulatory, Operations, Market Access, Commercial, Portfolio, Finance, Legal, etc) which will have an impact on the business across affiliates


• Design, Problem Solve and Stakeholder Buy-in for business critical projects

- Design framework for key issues impacting EPD performance

- Idea generation involving key internal and external stakeholders

- Alignment across key stakeholder groups on solution framework and design

- Build case for prioritization of the initiative aligned to business goals, strengths and capabilities of EPD

• Execution of initiatives with key stakeholders (Direct reports to EPD Senior Leadership team)

- Lead cross functional stakeholders to execute the designed solution

- Identify key project KPIs and align with key stakeholders

- Update the KPIs regularly and push stakeholders to meet goals

- Prepare updates for senior leadership meetings

- Responsible for debottlenecking any issues for the initiative

- Identify and blueprint key best practices

- Rollout pilots in the regions and handover to local affiliate/regional/functional teams

Dimensions of this role

• Overall responsibility for execution across project areas for key initiatives. This is done in a very complex and dynamic environment involving multiple cross functional stakeholders. This includes collection of data, preparing and publishing dashboards, communicating with key stakeholders, data analysis, executing of project plans, debottlenecking issues related to projects, stakeholder management in line with business goals, strengths and capabilities


• This role might entail travels to regional markets to understand strategic needs and implement initiatives in these geographies.


• Indirectly lead and manage team working directly with senior staff members and their direct reports.


• Drive alignment and decision making at top management level at EPD

Experience :

• 5 to 8 years’ experience in consulting/project management with experience of managing complex projects including managing cross functional teams


• Bachelor degree or higher in any discipline


• Experience and understanding of Pharmaceutical landscape preferred


• Professional project management training is preferred

• Able to synthesize issue/topic into a simple message


• Ability to deliver outcomes and outputs from analyses


• Very capable in terms of developing storylines, presentations in PowerPoint
