Data Retention & Backup Specialist

Job-description

Mission:
The Data retention and backup specialist will be in charge, within the according team, of the maintenance and development of the different Swatch Group Backup and data retentions solutions in conjunction with our Data Center infrastructure.
Your responsibility:

• Ensure the availability of the overall backup infrastructure, hardware and software.


• Adapt the infrastructure to the technical and business requirements.


• Collaborate in different business projects in the data retention domain (implementation of legal, business and technical requirements).


• Setup operational procedures and train the IT operation team.


• Bring the technical and architectural competences in troubleshooting ad-hoc teams.


• Manage the suppliers (contract renewal, support, TAM )


• Service management (billing, services description, kpi...)


• Works on innovations for the continuous improvement of the backup of the Swatch Group and implements the new solutions


• Assist the storage and virtualization team in setting up state of the art architectures, adapted to the technological and business requirements.


• Deputy for the Storage service manager


• Participate to the 24*7 on call service
  

Your profile

• MS or BA in Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent


• Professional experience in NetApp environment (certification are preferred).


• Professional experience in Commvault environment (certification are preferred).


• Nutanix competencies is a plus.


• General knowledge in VMWare vSphere environment, MS Windows, Linux, databases and networking.


• Demonstrated initiative, customer orientation and team work competencies.


• Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.


• Ability to delegate tasks.


• Precise and structured working method.


• Autonomous, rigorous.


• Project management skills.


• Fluency in English and German or French

Professional requirements

• MS or BA in Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent


• Professional experience in NetApp environment (certification are preferred).


• Professional experience in Commvault environment (certification are preferred).
