Our products and solutions deliver productivity, comfort, safety and reliability to customers around the world in industry, retail and residential settings.Our DevOps engineer is responsible working with HON SW Engineering teams in an Agile environment for coordinating design, development (writing code), installing, managing and/or maintaining our systems that are used to implement automation for continuous integration and continuous deploy/delivery (CICD) efforts.These efforts also facilitate production monitoring and controls that enable proactive predictive state experience.They will ensure that our systems and processes operate effectively and efficiently.They work with 3rd parties who manufacture software and our engineering team who creates our proprietary IoT systems.



  • Knowledge of and experience with DevOps concepts, tools, and architectures in building a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD) Pipeline

  • Experience with software build/package/deploy methodologies and infrastructure as service automation.

  • Ability to Research, Build, or trade-off existing tools, libraries and frameworks and effectively communicate engineering Work with the engineering teams to include software/solutions into pipeline and enhance CICD efforts to facilitate solution offering

  • Works with the monitoring, incident teams & automation team to deploy proactive issue resolutions for a robust production experience

  • Leverage tools, technology, and process(lean) to ensure end user consumers have a positive experience.

  • Working in agile teams, build, test and maintain all aspects of CICD Pipeline.

  • Ensure redundant & resilient systems are monitored in the event of failover

  • Analyze reports generated from our systems

  • Design and Develop the test automation to validate the builds in the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Provide data as metrics for dashboards that increase engineering productivity, build/deploy and production status as it relates to the CICD Pipeline.

  • Work closely with Engineering teams to ensure that solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance and operability in mind.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C#, Java

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Powershell, Bash, Python

  • Experience in building and deploying large-scale .NET or Java web applications

  • Experience with highly available / responsive systems

  • Knowledgeable in common SCM practices, such as branching and code merges

  • Ability to work within a Team with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

  • Experience in designing and maintaining cloud-based solutions and tools. Azure experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of network topology, protocols, and debugging on Wintel/Linux systems.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD process for enterprise PaaS/SaaS/IaaS and on-prem applications.

  • Experience working with CICD implementation a Microservices architecture

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef etc.

  • Hands-on experience in build and administer VMs and Containers using tools such as Docker, Vagrant, Kubernetes.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships across disciplines and across the organization's functional levels.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Preferred: working within an Agile team as Software Engineer

  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.

  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.

  • Highly team oriented

  • Ability to work alongside with Ops Engineers to troubleshoot /automate solutions when time critical solutions are required.
