Apply to JobJob ID250507BRPosition TitleScientist - Electron MicroscopyJob DescriptionThe protein sciences group in the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics department of NIBR contributes to the discovery of novel molecules to modulate proteins that have roles in disease.



• Your responsibilities will include sample preparation, data collection, and data processing of negative stain and cryo-EM samples on projects with substantial impact on drug discovery in NIBR.

• You will be a member of the cryo-electron microscopy group and involved in all aspects of day-to-day activities in an EM-Facility. Responsibilities include preparation of biological samples for negative stain and cryo-electron microscopy, imaging of samples as well as data processing and basic maintenance of the equipment.

• You will interact with internal and external collaborators, help with training of associates, work closely with other team members of different levels and evaluate, troubleshoot, and implement novel technical/scientific methods.

• Among your goals will be generation of quality data that help to characterize and optimize protein samples. Design, execution, and interpretation of electron microscopy experiments that have impact in drug discovery projects.Minimum requirements• You have a degree in biochemistry, physics, biology or a related field and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in structure determination using single particle cryo-EM

• You are able to work the independently as well as in a highly collaborative cross functional team

• Good presentation skills, both written and oral are required

• Fluency in English is required.
