Accountable for the long term profitable growth and marketing of the ABB offering to targeted market segments, by developing and managing it through all of its life cycle phases, according to market needs and Product Group strategy and targets. Develop the GPG digital business plan (solution roadmap, financial targets) by combining the own building/industry domain competency with Digital competencies that are available within or outside ABB. Contribute to the Business Unit’s (BU) Digital strategy by collaborating with the BU Digital Lead and ABB Ability™ platform strategy.
2018-09-25Mittleres Management / Senior Management•Lead market intelligence analysis. Capture outside market situation and opportunities, customer drivers and digitalization needs, and provide solution-based business strategy to leverage untapped digital value.
•Work with Global Product Manager (GPM) team to develop the capabilities (organization, process, and systems) to become a more effective digital business while complying with the relevant group guidelines, cybersecurity and architectural standards.
•Ensure the swift adoption of ABB Ability™ within the GPG as the mandatory common platform, and develops plans for legacy solutions.
•Evaluate potential partnerships with external companies who will co-develop on our platform (and potentially ecosystem applications)
•Develop a “digital business plan” which deliver rapid growth and profitable new revenue streams (revenue targets, profitability targets, project plans).
•Develop an appropriate business model for a digital portfolio across all Product Groups in the BU and consistently with the other BU’s within the Division.
•Align BU marketing and communications on digital solutions with all stakeholders, especially BU marketing and communications.
•Ensure the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Motivate the direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Grade Job Evaluation Indicators Typical Qualifications
•Minimum 8 years’ experience in the software industry with focus on digitalization and the Internet of Things, and deep understanding of relevant technologies and trends
•Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines preferred (although extensive software business exposure would compensate for lack of IS-specific academic background). MBA is preferred.
•Proven experience in driving digital transformation for complex global organizations, ideally in a B2B environment (software, technology, automation, energy industry)
•Experience in the industrial environment; BU-specific industry exposure (industrial automation/power products) preferred
•Excellent networking skills matured in a highly international organization, “leading by influence”
•Previous experience working in a matrix organization
•Fluency in English, both written and spoken
•Availability to travel internationally as required
•Preferred from Electrical industry experience
•Management of people experience, Change management experience, Global Marketing or Product Management experience
•Multi-lingual
•Excellent command of English (oral and written)
