The Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) in Basel has 350 international staff and scientists of many disciplines. We focus on research in complex biological systems. The Department is part of the ETH, a world leading university for research in science and technology. For our Department in Basel we are seeking anIT Support Professional for Mac and Windows devices (100%) We offer an exciting opportunity to work in our mixed platform environment, to use and develop Mac and Windows technical support skills, and to work with our many friendly and interesting customers. You will be involved in desktop, laptop and workstation installations, computer support, hardware upgrades and deployments. You will assist our scientists with the configuration and backup of their computer systems used to capture data. You will use our centralised management systems to deploy software and update or configure computers. This is a very practical role with direct interaction with customers and computers, combining 2nd and 1st-level support activities, working with dedicated staff and with access to training opportunities. Your qualifications will include in-depth experience of the Mac platform, and a good basis of Windows skills. You will be familiar with working directly with customers, providing them a technical service. You will need to be able to work independently, but to coordinate effectively in our small team. Reliability, flexibility, team-focus and customer-centric service-delivery are some of your passions. Skills in German and English are required.
