We are looking for a highly experienced CMC Project Leader, who fits well to our motivated and diverse PM team. We are seeking for someone who expands our team capabilities and provides strategic, commercial and technical leadership in ongoing and future customer projects.

Your Tasks

• Leading a complex customer-related portfolio of projects with the aim to achieve goals, create value and foster a successful collaboration between Bachem and its customers


• Operative lead: project planning, steering, reporting and delivering in time and quality


• Commercial lead: contract negotiations, business proposals and forecasting, risk-sharing options


• Strategic lead: CMC and filing strategy, long-term planning and customer relationship development


• Anticipating and mitigating technical, resource-related and commercial risks


• Developing a positive customer experience which leads to more business


• Executing and successful delivering of tech transfer projects (internal and external)


• Project team relationship building through an integrative and supporting approach


• Training and coaching of colleagues in PM and other functional lines


• Contributing and driving organizational development and improvement


• Representing the company incl. presenting complex topics to outside audience

Your Profile

• Master degree in a scientific field and ideally complemented with business education e.g. MBA


• At least 10 years of relevant PM experience in a CMO/CDMO and/or Pharma environment, ideally with PM certificate


• Proven track record of independently managed portfolio of CMC projects from preclinical phase to the market, ideally in the field of peptides and/or oligonucleotides


• Documented ability to successfully lead project teams in complex and challenging set-ups e.g. tech transfers, resource-constraints, tight timelines, limited budget, multiple parties involved 


• Willingness to assume project ownership and to link project success with personal success


• Track record of successfully implementing change / business transformation projects


• Demonstrated customer-facing experience with a service-oriented attitude


• Ability to comprehend and proactively address needs of a group of heterogeneous stakeholders


• Deep understanding of CMO-related GMP processes, regulatory requirements, and interdependencies across functional lines and other contributors


• Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to engage the project team / audience


• Line-management experience or equivalent skills with track-record of team education and coaching


• Solid knowledge of pharmaceutical value creation (R&D, API supply, outsourcing models, partnering, alternative clinical and regulatory submission paths)


• Sound knowledge of PM- and ERP-related business and communication tools


• Excellent language skills in English; German is a plus
