Job Purpose

The R2P Senior Specialist – Accounting & Payment is responsible for performing the Accounting and Payment activities for all markets in scope of the R2P EMEA - EU GSC.  

By making tactical use of strong accounts payable, systems and processes knowledge and experience, the R2P Senior Specialist – Accounting & Payment performs payment runs, closing activities, reconciliations as well as Compliance controls & other internal control checks. 

They support the organization in achieving their KPI targets, propose and drive continuous improvement and process excellence initiatives. 

Major Accountabilities

• Month end closing activities and GL accounts reconciliation in scope of R2P 


• R2P support during internal/external audit 


• Perform related Compliance control (SOX Compliance) and other internal controls 


• Execution of weekly payment run for all countries in scope of the EU GSC and ad hoc payments 


• Proper follow up and clearing of unallocated cash  


• Timely AP clearing and no unjustified aged items 


• Follow up and prompt actions on FNOW requests, ensuring turn-around-time and expected SLA with a clear customer service approach 


• Close collaboration with other R2P streams 


• Drive a continuous improvement mindset in the organization 

Key Performance Indicators

• Accuracy and timeliness of reconciliations and Month End deadlines and as per accounting policy 


• Proper follow up on aged items, no missing evidence and no unjustified aged balances 


• Timely preparation of payment run and review of manual payment for all markets in scope 


• Timely execution of Compliance controls and properly documented 


• No surprise operations and during Audits  


• Efficient and timely resolution of FNOW requests as per SLA 


• Timely communication of any escalations 

Ideal Background

Education 

• Degree in finance and/or accounting or relevant experience. 

Languages:  

• Command of English (Advanced level) and preferably 1-2 other European (GSC) languages; German, French, Italian and Spanish/Portuguese

​Experience:  

• 2-4 years in account payable department (preferably shared services).
