About the Role
Directly reporting to the Group Contracts Department Head SRI, in this new role, you will establish and lead a high performing team of contract lawyers. Primary accountabilities include lead the legal domain part of our contracts transformation journey and draw on complex legal and business experience to provide solutions across the Swiss Re Group.
This unique and dynamic role is at the intersection of law and technology. You would work across all three Business Units and Group functions and will also be part of the Group Contracts Leadership Team which contributes to develop the Swiss Re Institute (SRI)'s agenda.
Initial tasks:
Provide strategic counsel, support and insight to the Group Contracts Department Head and serve as a collaborative partner and resource to the leadership team and other programme leaders
Define common capabilities and contractual parameters to enable the integration of contractual data; Responsible for multiple complex initiatives across businesses/platforms
Maximize extensive industry experience reviewing re/insurance contracts and direct internal resources to deliver on the KPIs of the contracts digital transformation programme
Build, oversee and manage a team of contracts lawyers supporting Group Contracts
Maintain accountability for the team of contract specialists and lawyers focused on assessing contractual clauses and validating contractual outputs of model in the various business
Perform detail contract review and analysis to verify the quality of the automated reviews performed by our contract review tool
Provide internal technical and legal feedback regarding the performance of the tool, considering feedback provided by the business/users of the tool
Champion the e2e contract experience, including technology, data, people and process and seek connection across the group to understand the ecosystem and drive the contract transformation
Define near term and aspirational metrics to drive the e2e programme tasks forward
Use and conduct cutting-edge research in the area of computational contracts in re/insurance to test and learn, in deep partnership with data scientists, software engineers, and external vendors
Encourage open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while effectively maximizing resources to overcome unexpected obstacles
Keep up to date with technological advancements in contract management solutions and identify cutting-edge trends and bring them to the firm, helping inform and shape strategy from top-down
Define opportunities to create durable competitive advantage
About the Team
Group Contracts is a newly created department in Group Underwriting. Our team is diverse, global and is responsible for the execution of the multi-year end to end Contracts Transformation programme across the Swiss Re Group and to steer all group matters related to our re/insurance contracts.

About You
Degree in Law or equivalent education
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience as an attorney or related (re)insurance experience
Strong knowledge of contract related legal and contractual principles and practices relating to (re)insurance
Well informed about and proficient in the use of modern technology, including tool & systems and willingness to support the development of such tools on a fast-paced transformation journey
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
Leadership and management skills across cultures, geographies and organizational levels
Ability to build and foster an inspiring team environment with open communication and feedback culture
Able to interact with senior management and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Flexible and adaptable
Able to work in ambiguous situations
