SW Project Leader/Partner Manager

With the project a new version of the LightCycler 480® is provided, the LightCycler 480® III.


The system consists of the following components:



  • LightCycler® 480 III Research software for PCR result analysis


  • LightCycler® 480 III Instrument software for IVD and research mode



We are looking for a talented Software Project Leader to join the team in LC480 III. The role is assigned to RMD Software Development, located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.


You will be part of a team that includes hardware and software development, system development, operations and supporting functions. 
 


The Opportunity


We are looking for a talented Software Project Leader to join the team in LC480 III.
 


Your main responsibilities will include:


Project Setup:



  • Support the vendor selection process.


  • Collect the necessary input and manage to send an RFP to different vendors.


  • Facilitate workshops with partners to discuss scope and collaboration possibilities.


  • Lead the internal evaluation process (clear rating criteria, drive the decision process).


  • Prepare the contract negotiation phase.


  • Create the contract with the vendor of choice.


  • Identify the Project risk and suitable mitigation to negotiate in the delivery contract.


  • Define the KPIs for Delivery and later Maintenance contract.


  • Agree on a delivery model for LC480 SW.


  • Negotiate process alignment between vendors Component development process and our System-level process(QAA).



Project Execution



  • Solution Train Engineer across Release Trains for SW components (RTs owned by partner)


  • On-Board the partner and establish a successful collaboration.


  • Foster a customer-centric collaboration with the partner based on trust.


  • Facilitate different agile meetings to ensure continuous value definition, creation, and testing


  • Manage the scope and deliverables in an incremental way, aligned with Product Owners of software components.


  • Define and align the handover process between partner and System Integration.


  • Prepare the Acceptance Procedure for each deliverable.


  • Report the SW Progress within the project.


  • Manage teams and projects of increased complexity.


  • Coach different roles on Agile methodologies and ensure an agile mindset in the teams.


  • Develop and align realistic program increments with partners and define related work orders (work orders per program increment).


  • oversee and track the Development Team's progress in meeting milestones and deliverables.


  • Partner closely with Product Owners, Integration Architect, and LSE to define and execute the device/technology strategy and facilitate team meetings with key stakeholders to drive sharing of information, efficient decision-making, issues resolution, risk mitigation.


  • Analyze and understand the critical path activities and ensure vendors and teams are aware of the interdependencies.


  • Connect with management to provide regular project updates on project status including risk mitigation plans and to escalate unexpected events impacting project schedule, budget, and resources.


  • Monitor Roche resource and project variable costs needed to execute Plan and work closely with the core team to ensure the budget is integrated.


  • You enjoy collaborating in an agile project team in cross-functional activities to find the best approach for your project.


  • Participating in the Steering Committee with partners and review vendor performance.


  • Manage contractual change requests from partners whenever required in alignment with Procurement.



Who you are



  • A minimum experience of 3 years as an SW Project Leader with experience in vendor management.


  • Strong project management skills in vendor management, project planning, scheduling, tracking deliverables and actions, facilitating decisions, tracking risks. Resource and cost forecasting, meeting management, regular project status communication.


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.


  • University degree in any of the following areas Business, IT, Engineering, or equivalent fields.


  • Expert knowledge of Scrum, Lean, and one or more Agile scaling models (like SAFe, LeSS)


  • Perfect skills in English spoken and written.



The following skills would be a plus:



  • PMP certification.


  • German spoken and written.


  • Experience in highly regulated environments.
