Team Lead Supply Chain Management (m/f/d)

Location: - Basel – Allschwil / Remote Switzerland



Position Summary:

The Team Leader has leadership responsibilities and is accountable for the actions of the assigned Clinical Supply Chain Managers, Associate Clinical Supply Chain Managers and Drug Supply Coordinators within the Global Supply Chain Management operation.
The Team Leader is performing the responsibilities of a supply chain manager for their respective portfolio. Responsibilities include assisting with business process and training material development; mentoring and coaching and leadership.

Responsibilities:



  • Manages the resources and project staffing of the assigned team and self

  • Makes staffing recommendations to the Therapeutic Area Manager

  • Provides mentoring and ongoing coaching and development support for team

  • Administers the Performance Management Development process for the team including goal setting, mid- year and year-end performance discussions on time per company guidelines

  • Holds staff accountable for their ongoing performance, acknowledges exemplary behaviors and implements progressive discipline, if necessary.

  • Conducts regular team meetings to assess the status of studies, identify necessary resources, and proactively address issues

  • Monitors and tracks training requirements of all direct reports utilizing iComply

  • Interprets protocols to assess resource requirements for new client opportunities and finalizes pricing for the quoting team

  • Gathers and analyzes financial information pertinent to budgeting and forecasting activity for the department

  • Responsible for budgetary aspects including personnel expenses, and other related costs

  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate metrics to ensure business success.

  • Works closely with the Global Supply Chain Management leadership to ensure best practices, training and procedural aspects are aligned globally

  • Works with global Global Supply Chain Management leadership to ensure global processes and procedures are developed and followed and there is consistency between programs

  • Represents and appropriately positions the services for potential clients.

  • Utilizes understanding of Clinical Trial Supply Chain Management best practice principles to develop new or improve existing business processes and appropriately document and revise or develop associated training materials

  • Stays abreast of relevant cGMPs, GCPs, and other regulatory requirements and ensures study management activities are aligned

  • Attends relevant client related meetings and appropriately represent status of the Clinical Supply Chain

Education/ Experience:

  • Requires accredited college, university or recognized professional degree, preferably in a health-related field

  • Requires proven and demonstrated experience with multiple global clinical trials

  • Requires experience working with clinical research professionals

  • Requires proven Clinical Supply Chain management experience including supply planning and supply chain principals

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Requires in depth understanding of clinical trials and other business services

  • Requires understanding and competent use of SOPs required by company Quality standards

  • Requires good knowledge of company functions globally and a deep understanding of the relationships and processes integration among departments within the business

  • Requires excellent organizational, planning, verbal, written and numerical skills with the ability to analyse and define solutions and self-manage multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines

  • Requires strong and effective communicator with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients

  • Requires strong customer management skills; proactively anticipates, understands, and responds to the needs of clients to meet or exceed their expectations

  • Requires experience with both detail execution and strategic orientation
