Job Purpose:
This role will be primarily involved with developing and executing the M&A strategy. The Senior Director
M&A will work closely with senior management, divisions business franchises, Strategic Planning, and
BD&L functions. She/he will act as a center of competence for BUs regarding process, tactics and valuation and proactively gather market intelligence on potential M&A targets.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Work closely with Corporate and divisional management to understand key corporate and business
objectives
• Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure continuous development of M&A
strategic roadmap and M&A target list
• Coordinate interactions across firm including key corporate functions (tax, legal, BPA, finance)
• Provide support services to Business Franchises/Units to assess M&A opportunities
• Build relationships with external parties to facilitate implementation of M&A strategy (potential targets,
legal advisors, bankers)
• Proactively develop insights on competitors with respect to their M&A strategy
• Leadership on M&A projects to deliver first-class execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures,
strategic alliances and other business combination transactions
• Provide project management function during execution projects (including conducting due diligence,
valuation, negotiation of deals, key documentation, preparation of groundwork for post-merger integration)
Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Advanced Degree/MBA (discipline with analytical content)
• 10 years extensive M&A transaction experience, pharma/biotech industry, especially in a project leadership capacity or 3+ years’ experience in Investment Banking
• Negotiation experience and preference for Investment Banking experience
• Has in-depth knowledge of Corporate Finance and has proven experience as a finance business partner and leader
• Has strong business knowledge, strategic planning and analytical skills with conceptional thinking capabilities
