Purpose of the role
ProtonVPN is a product based on network interactions between a wide range of different devices. The list of devices we support is expected to grow, and we are also continuously expanding and upgrading our infrastructure to accommodate a growing number of users. At the same time, we are working on new tools and features to improve the privacy and security we offer our users. We are therefore looking for a Networking QA Engineer to join our team.
As a member of the ProtonVPN QA team, you will investigate ProtonVPN’s client applications’ (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android) networking interactions, reporting issues, and suggesting improvements as required. You might be scripting in Bash, Python or Lua, or using advanced networking diagnostic tools. You will work in close collaboration with the entire ProtonVPN development team on any outstanding projects. The ideal candidate will be excited to face unique and varied challenges that require a variety of skills to resolve.
What you will do
As a QA member, be an active part of the ProtonVPN development team
Collaborate in the analysis of complex challenges related to how client applications behave, in particular, behavior-related, but not limited to, their networking stacks
Perform manual testing on applications’ functionality on different platforms
Take part in the development of innovative solutions to improve the ProtonVPN testing infrastructure and extend its functionality
Take part in extending existing open source projects or in creating new ones
