Job reference: WD-0007847 What's the role? Manage a portfolio of sourcing categories (e.g. IT software) and strategic sourcing projects. Develop or fine-tune a sourcing strategy for each category as appropriate. Facilitate and enable where feasible strategies to reduce transactional work and obtain optimal quality, service, price, and other terms.



Together with your stakeholders you will drive & influence sourcing projects along the full procurement cycle to optimize spend and improve total value for Hilti. Align & plan together with your internal stakeholders’ strategies to develop long term partnerships & supply strategies with global and regional suppliers. Who is Hilti? As a Strategic Category Manager, you are responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within an assigned portfolio of indirect sourcing categories (mainly IT software). Specific responsibilities include development of category strategies, optimizing spend opportunities, facilitating and leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiation, tactical purchasing, and establishing & maintenance of supplier relationships. You drive the preparation and the execution together with our global IT & business project teams. • You have a university degree in procurement, supply chain, business or finance with results in upper-quartile


• 3+ years’ experience in procurement (strategic sourcing), supply chain, engineering, finance or project management in a multinational organization


• Experience in IT sourcing preferred


• Strategic mind-set with result orientation coupled with strong facilitation & negotiation skills


• Effective communication skills, including the ability to structure clear presentations and to simplify a financial message to non-finance stakeholders


• Evidence of acting as a strategic partner through influencing and interacting with key stakeholders across a matrix organization


• Proficient spreadsheet skillset


• A strong business acumen and visionary mindset balanced by hands-on behavior


• You bring proactive approach in identifying external trends and acting as change agent while consistently driving to outperform & exceed targets


• A strong passion for people – actively seeking to develop yourself & others


• Fluent in English; other languages appreciated
