Job reference: WD-0006229 What's the role? We are searching for a project manager with experience ideally in Total Station development or in project management of highly complex mechatronic systems with sub-structured big project teams over several years.



Robotic Total stations are motorized electronic/optic instruments used in the surveying and construction industry to measure and layout any 3D position by distance and horizontal/vertical angle measurements.



An ideal candidate will manage development projects to launch new and highly differentiated layout solutions to the construction market. You have proven project management experiences in delivering these complex mechatronic systems to the market. Who is Hilti? If you’re new to the industry, you might not have heard of us. What does the role involve? -You are responsible for project management of end to end new product creation and life cycle management from design to production.

-You manage interdisciplinary project teams with full responsibility on manufacturing costs, on time delivery, quality and project budget.

-You balance initially the customer and stakeholder requirements to create a product vision that generate customer added value. Requirements engineering, synchronisation of the different streams on system level as well as release management should not be new territory, this is also valid to agile project management.

-You structure complex tasks into manageable work packages, and create realistic project plans with accurately estimated timelines and resources.

-You show evidence of being able to set priorities, understand the trade-offs and you take calculated risks, manage and mitigate them.

-You work with various partners and stakeholders like JVs, plants, markets, finance, technology experts and external vendors Our Business Unit Measuring is characterized by significant annual growth, complex footprints (e.g. multinational, partnerships with competitors and joint ventures) and very complex products with high precision (e.g. laser, optional and fine mechanics as well as electronics technologies). • Engineering education and complementary business education or experience


• Broad entrepreneurial profile with affinity to technical, supply, marketing, and quality topics


• 5 plus years of work experience ideally in Total Station projects on the Marketing, R&D, Testing or Quality side or evidence in managing complex situations and projects


• Structured person with the ability to reduce complexity and take decision at calculated risk


• Target orientation with a strong entrepreneurship attitude and the will to deliver results


• Strong personality and team player with the ability to drive direction in an inclusive manner


• Up to 10% international & domestic travel required
