Power Electronics Design Engineer

As a member of the Electronic Components Team of the Electrified Powertrain division of FPT Industrial, you will specify,
design and test power electronics for electrified powertrain applications (hybrid, full electric and fuel cell powertrains). In
doing so, you will be contributing to the development of advanced concepts as well as to their implementation. You will work
in a small, flexible and growing R&D team on our premises in the attractive Swiss Lake Constance region of Arbon. The
region provides an excellent quality of living and leisure opportunities.

What you will move in your new role

• For make parts: Develop, prototype and test power electronic systems. This encompasses both LV and HV designs,
  DC/DC converters and Inverters


• Model and simulate circuits


• For Buy Parts: Define component specifications and evaluate suppliers’ technical quotations


• Technical partner to system and subsystem suppliers


• Manage and supervise component design validation procedure: technical documentation release, virtual validation,
  FMEA


• Plan and supervise test of components on testbenches or vehicles


• Communicate and present results


• Work closely with various internal laboratories, workshops and test staff

You should bring these skills and experience

• University degree in electronics, electric or systems engineering, minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role


• Proven track record in design and release of automotive electronics


• Strong hands on attitude in hardware / embedded design, debugging and validation of:
  o switching converter architectures and topologies
  o Power semiconductors, magnetic components, protection devices
  o Thermal design of power electronics
  o Board level signal integrity, EMC


• Circuit simulation and computer-aided design tools (EDA CADs, PLECS, Simscape …)


• Experienced with Matlab/Simulink


• You are a highly motivated self-starter and team-player with good communication skills


• Willing to constantly learn


• English language C1, written and spoken


• German language A2, written and spoken

These assets are a plus

• Good knowledge of digital logic circuitry (DSP, FPGA, Microcontrollers)


• Good knowledge of analogue circuitry (signal acquiring, shaping, integrity)


• Experience with safety critical electronic product development


• Experience with FMEA, DVP, ISO 26262


• Embedded coding experience


• Knowledge of control theory and digital implementation for power converters controls


• Experience in HIL and SIL testing environments


• Experience with CAN protocols (J1939), CANalyzer SW/HW


• Fluency in German language, written and spoken
