The Strategic Planning and Feasibility organization has global oversight and accountability for site feasibility and allocation across our global portfolio. As a new dedicated feasibility function, Strategic Planning and Feasibility uses early and strategic alignment, data-driven decision making and strong collaboration across Global Drug Development at Novartis, to speed up our trial process in the interest of patients.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As Global Associate Director SPF you will be accountable and responsible for the oversight, coordination and development of long term global feasibility assessments and allocation strategies of trial(s) within assigned Development Unit(s). Leads multidisciplinary trial feasibility teams with Global Clinical Teams (GCTs) / Clinical Trial Teams (CTT)s, Regions and Country Organizations (COs) to validate and refine trial allocation strategies, aligned with global indication/program feasibility and allocation strategy, and in compliance with Novartis processes, GCP, ICH and regulatory requirements.
Scope of activities include trial feasibility assessment, validation and refinement of trial allocation strategy, including scenario planning and risk management, and any re-feasibility assessments, as applicable. Drives operational excellence through process improvement and knowledge sharing across clinical indication(s)/program(s) within Development Unit. Navigates in a matrix environment and adjusts quickly to business needs.
Leads analyses of external and internal data to validate and refine strategic allocation of assigned trials, aligned with program allocation strategy, thereby enabling accurate overall decision making. Develops evidence-based scenario planning to drive realistic project time-lines. Point of escalation for resolution of feasibility, allocation, and feasibility related recruitment issues for assigned trial(s) within assigned Development Unit(s).

Minimum requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelors in life science/healthcare required or equivalent education.
- Fluent English (oral and written).
- ≥ 5 years of pharmaceutical clinical drug development experience recommended with ≥3 years in planning/execution global clinical trials recommended.
- Strong understanding of all aspects of clinical drug development with particular emphasis on clinical trial design, trial execution, and strong knowledge about the feasibility and allocation process of a program/study.
- Possess strong, resourceful research skills to locate unusual information and have capacity to develop a deep domain specific knowledge base.
- Understand the Clinical Trial matrixed process from research through post marketing phase IV, health authority guidelines, country challenges as well as sources for therapeutic area data.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across partner functions in a matrix environment, without direct reports; able to coordinate the activities of others.
- Demonstrated experience in feasibility for global clinical trials.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate in matrix environment.
- Has experience in or understanding of trial level budgeting.
- Has coached, mentored, on boarded peers and/or new associates.
- Has had success in identifying, proactively flagging, and resolving risks; experience with strategic scenario planning and management
