Front-End Engineer ((React)

As a Front-End Engineer, you will be developing the Appway Platform and the products we have within. The Appway Platform is a development environment for web applications. It offers visual tools for designing processes, pages, business rules, data models, and much more for efficiently implementing web applications.

We are looking for a Front-End Engineer who is very passionate about software. You will work together with our Visual Designers and Core Platform Engineers throughout numerous stages of our product development life cycle.

We strongly believe in team work and your team is responsible for the quality of the product it delivers. You will work in a self-organized team that takes care of developing features of the product, from the initial design phase to its final release. You will interact with people in our different offices around the world and with different expertise.

During development, you will also be working on activities such as:

• Code reviews to also be compliant with coding conventions


• Knowledge sharing with the other Engineers


• Continuous collaboration with UX designers and the PM of your team


• Unit testing


• Manual and automated testing


• Presenting work to other teams and stakeholders

On a daily basis, you will mainly be working on and maintaining a large codebase by writing JavaScript with REACT (ES6) and Vanilla (ES5), CSS, HTML and unit tests.

Main Responsibilities:

• Collaborating closely with Appway’s User Interaction and Graphic Designers, as well as other Engineers


• Transforming Photoshop mockups into a living breathing web applications


• Writing clear, distinct and maintainable code


• Helping us take Appway to the next level by improving its desktop-quality user interface by using standards-based HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

Requirements:

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Computer Science or other related technical fields


• 3+ years of experience with a demonstratable proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS


• Strong computer science fundamentals: object oriented programming, design, and algorithms


• Experience with Medium to large-scale standards-based web applications, conceptual design, and implementation of modern software architectures


• Experience with version control systems.


• Knowledge of REACT is strongly preferred


• Any Java experience is a plus


• Excellent written & verbal English skills
