For our Quality & Engineering Department based in the Headquarter in Lamone (Switzerland), we are
searching an experienced

ENGINEERING MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will lead and manage manufacturing and quality engineering activities including design,
development, production, testing and quality control. He/she implements and maintains overall
engineering objectives and initiatives. He/she confronts and solves performance / operational issues to
improve development and production efficiency. He/she manage processes harmonization and
integration delivering timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget. He/she provides input to
strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. We expect that the candidate is able to
resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments
and/or within our subsidiaries. He/she will implement and maintain all applicable QSR / GMP
requirements.

MAIN DUTIES
Under the guidance of the VP Engineering & Quality, the Engineering Manager is responsible for leading
the engineering activities with focus on design, development, testing and continuous improvements of
systems and equipment in an international context with multiple locations (worldwide). The ideal
candidate will be hands on, a strategic visionary with strong leadership skills and sound project
management experience. The position is also responsible for supervising a small team (2-3 people) as
direct reports.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with operations departments to identify problems, conduct Root Cause Analysis, analyze
  requirements to come up with optimal resolutions for challenging equipment issues


• Ensure compliance and provide direction according to Datamars’ design control process


• Process validation management


• Suppliers qualification and monitoring


• Assure regulatory compliance by meeting or exceeding the requirements in accordance with ISO
  9001:2015 and ISO 14001


• Ability to effectively facilitate design reviews and requirements on traceability activities


• Ensure the design history file is complete accurate and defensible for each product release


• Provide change management leadership to implement Best-in-Class Engineering strategies and
  initiatives stablishing a high performance and continuous improvement culture driven by key
  performance metrics, benchmarking and sharing of best practices.


• Define and implement KPIs metrics, reports and statistical techniques that indicates the
  level of product quality at any stage of development or manufacturing


• Provide input requirements and direction for manufacturing tooling and equipment


• Design, acquire, install and commission mechanical/electrical equipment, systems, and parts to
  support manufacturing


• Develop, coordinate and execute protocol & report strategy/requirements

• Coordinate cross departmental group efforts and provide leadership for project work both internally
  and externally.


• Maintain compliance with all Quality Systems requirements. Fully adhere to all applicable ISO /
  GMP regulations, international guidelines and company policies at all times.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering


• A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience within electronic, medical device or biotech
  manufacturing company


• A minimum of 3 years’ management experience is preferred


• Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a small team


• Experience with manufacturing and Quality KPIs development and implementation; advanced
  usage of Excel will be considered a plus


• Analytical and mathematical mindset, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems


• Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects on track


• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment


• Certification in 6 Sigma, 5s or other Lean Manufacturing techniques will be considered and
  important advantage

Skills and Experience
The person needs to have:

• Familiarity with computer techniques, file navigation, data collection methods and usage of excel
  advanced level


• Ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities to meet deadlines


• Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines


• Languages: English (level C1 or higher) is a Must; any other language (e.g. Spanish) is considered
  an advantage


• Exceptional written, oral and presentation / communication skills


• Self-motivated team player with excellent time management and organization skills


• Ability to influence others and work within cross-functional teams (based in our subsidiaries
  abroad) to make critical decisions


• Availability to travel on a regular base (up to 40% of working time)
