pRED CLINICAL OPERATIONS (CO):

The Position


ROLE PURPOSE:


The Sourcing Partner is accountable for defining, implementing and driving the success of the pRED CO’s clinical sourcing strategy utilizing a combination of insourced or outsourced model as well as exploring novel solutions in partnership with the CO Chapters. The role provides strategic vision, leadership and sourcing expertise to the operational strategy for all drug therapeutic areas. This role is the primary interface between internal Roche Enterprise Governance, Roche functions, external partners and pRED Clinical Operations in relation to clinical sourcing and alliances.


In addition, the position holder will collaborate with stakeholders across the CO Chapters to develop, refine and implement partnership models for a range of technology providers.


 


WHAT YOU WILL DO:



  • Responsible for the definition, implementation, evolution and successful delivery of the pRED clinical sourcing strategy in alignment with the enterprise, where relevant, to drive delivery of clinical programs in line with quality, timelines, resource, and cost commitments


  • Develop an understanding of the pRED portfolio in order to strategize and offer value added solutions directly to study teams


  • With an entrepreneurial approach and mindset, develop novel partnerships with providers which are fit-for purpose and contribute towards CO’s productivity improvements. Establish partnership models for key partners, such as technology/systems providers, with appropriate governance and performance metrics


  • Build networks to identify enablers who can support elements of the sourcing strategy execution


  • Accountable for key account management activities of pRED CRO partners and Roche Country Clinical Operations (for insourced studies)


  • Seek innovative solutions outside of Roche to drive internal innovation in sourcing.  


  • Define a sourcing framework to enable team decision making. Drive development of sourcing expertise within Clinical Operations by training, coaching and ensuring the implementation of shared learning across clinical studies. 


  • Represent pRED CO at the appropriate cross enterprise governance and oversight forums

  • Strong experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry and drug development experience (therapeutic area experience a plus)


  • Hold a university degree or equivalent years of experience, preferred focus in life sciences

  • Possess strong working knowledge of drug development process and respective regulations

  • Expert understanding, knowledge and experience of sourcing in the context of drug development across the value chain with particular focus on early development.  With a proven ability to understand and critically assess global clinical development plans, sourcing needs, global budgets and timelines for multiple programs


  • Thorough understanding and experience in the development of operational sourcing strategies is essential with substantial experience in the organization, implementation, and delivery of global clinical programs, including smaller highly complex studies to large global clinical programs


  • Expert knowledge of external service provider landscape and needs for drug development within Early Clinical Development


  • Strong ability to manage and navigate difficult Sponsor-Partner situations and effectively manage stakeholder expectation
