Vifor Pharma a world leading Nephrology, Iron Deficiency and Cardio-Renal pharmaceutical company are experiencing rapid growth due to pipeline realization and optimization. In addition, the global information technology group is expanding to meet the needs of the business with new tools and technologies to bring lifesaving and life improving medicines to patients. 

As such a vacancy has arisen within the IT TechOps and Corporate Solutions team to focus on supporting the IT and Scientific teams with SaaS applications within the cloud environment. You will have significant experience partnering with stakeholders and externals to deliver seamless applications support within a cloud environment in this transversal role. Ideally candidates with a background in the pharmaceutical industry with GxP knowledge are preferred; ITIL Foundation v4 certification is essential.

Main Accountabilities

• Close Stakeholder Management and business partnering (2-in a box) with a high degree of customer satisfaction regarding the delivered IT solution.


• Ensure that the components and systems are standardized (template), available, stable, and secure (incl. lifecycle)


• Process: Lead and improve the current system build, define best practices through the current solution and contribute to the definition of the Centre of Excellence methodology


• Manage and transition towards outsourced services (with Near/Offshore) – contract review, regular SLA check, upgrades, and maintenance windows, coordinate different resources during projects and manage escalation processes.


• Manage identified IT Security and Information Risk Management tasks and observations and solve them.


• Support IT TechOps and Corporate solutions team in roadmap, lifecycle activities and reporting.


• IT solutions and services are delivered and operated according to the standards, policies, and guidelines.


• Ensure compliance of validated GxP relevant systems in the role as System Owner.

Key Tasks

• Drive business interactions to ensure a close collaboration with the business partner with focus on innovation/grow


• Manage the Service Requests and Projects in close collaboration with business/IT according to the processes within IT.


• Ensure the operations of IT solutions with internal resources and accountable for the proper management of external resources within the team (run)


• Ensures compliant and reliable delivery of IT Solutions by internal/external staff/providers in line with SLAs


• Ensure System Owner role for all applications hosted and cloud hosted for his area (non- and GxP-relevant)


• Manage the execution of the functional Business Technology Programs (BTP), including Solution Architecture, Finance and Project Roadmap


• Create KPI and reports to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the group


• Delivers small-scale change/enhancements and improvements to the IT solution.


• Lead the continuous improvement process within IT TechOps and Corporate solutions.


• Permanent member of the CAB and Enterprise Architecture meetings.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in application mgt in the pharmaceutical industry with knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines for computer system validation (CSV, GAMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, PIC, etc.), or equivalent qualification from another regulated industry (e.g., banking)

• Minimum 5 years of IT project management experience


• Sound technical understanding of relevant application including configuration, customization, administration, interfaces, etc.


• Experience in delivering solutions with near and offshore services.


• ITIL Foundation v4 certified.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent)


• Preferred: Additional education in Business Administration


• Additional certification (e.g., PMP, ITIL MP v4)


• Experience with GxP Operations within a pharma context, ERP esp. SAP, ServiceNow, …etc
