The Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability Development will:
have responsibility for protecting and developing the Garrett’s brand awareness and public image, and leading reputation management programs. This position will also lead all corporate communication initiatives, including Garrett brand management, Corporate digital communication management, Crisis communication and Government Relations communication support.
lead and execute Garrett’s sustainability and corporate responsibility strategy across the business. This person will work with cross-functional teams to define and deliver the company’s sustainability, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and community impact strategies and to contribute to advancing Garrett’s reputation as a responsible automotive technology company.
The role will report to the Garrett Vice President Communications and be based in Switzerland.
Role & Responsibility
Partner with Garrett Leaders to define and execute Garrett external corporate communication strategy that support brand positioning with all key stakeholders
Drive corporate communication initiatives at national and global levels, to advance Garrett’s brand awareness and image.
Support Garrett Government Relations team advocacy efforts to protect and advance company interests.
Partner with the global Marcom and PR teams to position the Garrett brand, drive industry thought leadership and elevate executive positioning and Sustainable Development
Collaborate with global HR and internal communications to engage employees on the Brand’s culture and Garrett corporate initiatives
Define and execute Garrett corporate web and social media strategy.
Responsible for developing and executing programs to support the Garrett employer brand.
Lead and evolve Garrett’s WeCare4 sustainability and corporate responsibility strategy, governance and workplan.
Manage external stakeholder requests (mainly customers and investors) and coordinate annual submission for Ecovadis and CDP questionnaires, coordinate Drive Assurance,
Be an internal and external spokesperson and champion for Garrett’s WeCare4 approach
Lead the definition of 2030 WeCare4 roadmap including climate change, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), human rights, supply chain sustainability, ESG, etc.
Measure communications and Sustainable activities effectiveness.
Job Requirement
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field
Experience Required: 8-12 years in corporate communications or external communications and experience in managing and advancing broad-based corporate sustainability programs and initiatives
Understanding of leading corporate responsibility standards and frameworks and experience conducting gap analyses and action plans
Background in media relations or journalism, public affairs/government relations experience would be a plus
Exceptional ability to develop positive relationships and lead through influence with internal partners, build consensus and prioritize action and results
Outstanding communicator with excellent presentation and strong written and oral communications skills
Professional presence to be a trusted representative of the company with external stakeholders
Exceptional project management skills and the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive to completion
Demonstrated ability to think strategically
Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible
Global or multi-national corporate experience is strongly preferred
