What you’ll be doing
As a Principal Scientist within Biomarker Development Molecular & Cellular Sciences group you will partner with disease area, translational medicine specialists to define and execute a robust “fit for purpose” clinical biomarker strategy that addresses key scientific and clinical questions for programs in early and late clinical development phases.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• As the biomarker clinical expert in project teams, you will provide scientific technical insights; contribute to the overall clinical study biomarker strategy and plan, lead the execution and support interpretation of biomarker data to enable proof of mechanism, proof of biology, safety and efficacy understanding and patient selection
• Identify cellular and soluble biomarker needs and gaps in early and late projects, leading to the internal and external evaluation, validation and implementation of targeted innovative biomarker assays.
• Partner with outsourcing functions to identify and evaluate new Clinical Research Organisations according to project, technical and quality needs and drive transitioning and monitoring of internally developed assays to external vendors
Minimum requirements
What you will bring to the role:
• PhD or MD in Immunology or cell biology or equivalent related experience and 5+ years of industry experience in immunology or related fields
• Extensive understanding, knowledge and experience in flow cytometry, ligand binding assay technologies
• Extensive experience in technical validation and implementation of cellular and soluble biomarker assays in clinical studies according to international guidelines
• Proven ability to work and lead in a global organizational and scientific environment
• Solid understanding of tools, practices and processes employed in clinical trial settings and drug development
