Wireless Communications Engineer


SPEAG, together with its partner organizations the Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS) and ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), forms the Zurich43 alliance. Z43’s dedicated mission is to expand the knowledge and technology for the (i) characterization, optimization, and application of the EM near-field and (ii) predictive modelling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies.


Your challenges:



  • Leading our activities in wireless communications

  • Participation in a range of R&D projects in the field of wireless and electromagnetic near-field technologies (theory, experiments, modeling)

  • Development of novel measurement instrumentation and characterization methods

  • Participation in national and international standard activities (IEC, IEEE, etc.)

  • Collaboration with external partners and provision of hardware support to our customers


Your strengths:



  • University degree (Master’s degree with top grades) and/or PhD in Communications or Electrical Engineering

  • In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems

  • Experience with radiofrequency (RF) and wireless communication test instruments

  • Python programming experience

  • Knowledge in one of the following areas is a plus: RF antenna simulation and measurement, electrodynamics, numerical simulation of EM fields, error analysis, and uncertainty conventions

  • Strong sense of responsibility and highest quality standard of work

  • Self-motivation, good organizational and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, friendly personality and team spirit, sensitivity to customer needs, and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and meet tight deadlines

  • Good to excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken), ability to communicate in German a plus,
