Context
In full alignment with OCG strategic plan 2020-2023, the logistics department strives to enhance access to knowledge as well as to build a truly global, diverse and inclusive workforce to adequately support its social mission especially during its emergency operations. These initiatives fall under the umbrella of the Logistics Path and Competencies initiatives. More, the logistics department supports cross-functional projects to enhance the autonomy of field teams and develops partnerships with external actors within and outside the MSF movement. The position has a two folds function: Logistics Path & Competencies and KM Referent (60%) and Logistics project support officer (40%) to ensure workforce development, effective knowledge management and support to projects run by the logistics department.
In the MSF Operational Center Geneva (OCG), the steering and implementation of field programs is under the responsibility of the Operations Department, which includes direct medical support to field implementation ensuring fundamental medical standards are reached in all projects. The development of technical and/or strategic solutions adapted to complex medical challenges faced in the field, or to fulfill chosen medical ambitions, is under the responsibility of the Medical Department. Collaborative work between these two departments is considered a cornerstone for the organization to improve the general quality of its projects and the level of care for patients.
