About the role


To support the growth of the company we are continuously looking for talented Pursuit experts: the Pursuit Center of Excellence (PCoE) is established to support priority opportunities across Switzerland and to improve the quality, consistency and speed of response for the proposals across our Consulting business. We challenge to truly differentiate with a thoroughly crafted pursuit strategy and oversee a high quality execution. This ensures we showcase Consulting in a way that is accurate, current, and relevant whilst reducing the effort required by bid teams in terms of time and resources.

Your responsibilities


As a Pursuit Writer you will be focused on creating compelling client proposals. Primary responsible convey key messages and uphold editorial standards in proposal material as part of our Pursuit Centre of Excellence.


In the role of Pursuit Writer, you’ll need a precise eye with plenty of creative flair, have a great command of the English language and know how to make every sentence accurate, concise, and easy to read. As you edit, you make sure to invoke a warm, human tone by applying the style developed in the bid narrative. You connect the factual details of Deloitte’s services to the strategic narrative. Whether helping to develop win themes, writing the executive summary, reworking original content or focusing on details like spelling and grammar, you always put the client first. You’re responsible for writing with one voice across our responses, weaving a consistent thread of tone and messaging throughout. 



  • Responsibility to formulate value proposition and impact, ensure content readability, tailor communication to resonate with various stakeholders and underline our distinctiveness while supporting legal guidelines and reflecting our brand

  • Write, co-write and edit creative content and synthesize proposal messaging concisely and clearly; e.g. executive summaries that articulate critical messaging in a persuasive manner, advise and guide along the creation of compelling storylines

  • Demonstrate ability to sift through a strategy session or brainstorm discussion, swiftly extracting the most significant information and action items out of challenging strategic interfaces

  • Structure and lead format and content contributions of complex proposals and presentations, e.g. convert technical information to multiple audiences, manage document version control etc.

  • Ensure deadlines, facilitate and manage reviews, quality check and seek approvals from leadership

  • Work collaboratively with PCoE team members, Partners, global networks, account teams, and other resources as required to address aspects of proposal development; active participation in on-site coordination

  • Participate in pursuit team debriefs; leverage learnings to other pursuit professionals and future teams

  • Assist and support learning and development initiatives that build and enhance Deloitte’s PCoE effectiveness


Your qualifications



  • Agility and speed in executing strong writing; intellectual curiosity and ability to ‘get smart quickly’ by grasping specialist knowledge on a wide variety of topics

  • Ability to work within a provided strategic direction; ability to synthesise direction from various leaders

  • Outstanding attention to detail and quality: prioritise within a fast-paced, challenging environment, maintain composure and be flexible

  • Highly proactive, self-starter, hands-on mentality and strong work ethic; can-do, service-orientated and team-work mindset are musts

  • Creativity, listening and decision-making skills

  • University degree in journalism, linguistics, related area or 10+ years of writing and editing experience

  • related work experience in business development or similar a plus

  • Proficiency (oral and written) in English, good written and oral German skills, any additional languages is a plus

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (especially PowerPoint and Word)

  • Experience working in a professional services, B2B or large matrixed organisation a plus
