JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the global technology manager for Performance Resins within the Mobility & Materials business, the Polymer Scientist will work in multifunctional, global teams to develop material solutions that respond to the needs of our customers. Utilizing your knowledge of structure property relationship, chemical synthesis and formulation science you will conduct and lead designed experiments, data analysis, and utilize a broad range of test methods to accomplish the project goals.
Key responsibilities:
Identify, assess and develop new scientific concepts and/or technologies and/or products to provide solutions to identified problems, this in close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders
Manage scientific, technical, or information projects, coordinating with other professionals, such as manufacturing, marketing, sales, and support personnel to accomplish specific project objectives
Be an active member of a R&D community of the European Technical Centre, participating to all core value programs and related activities
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A successful candidate must have:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Science or related disciplines in the area of Silicone chemistry and/or Silicone polymers
Experience in or good understanding of polymer related fields like processing, rheology, physical testing, etc.
Open, innovative mind set with a track record in problem solving
Good interpersonal skills to work in a diverse, multi-functional, multi-national team
Proactivity and self-initiative to manage priorities with minimal supervision
Fluency in English and French. Knowledge of other languages will be a plus
Skills desirable but not mandatory are:
Industrial experience in the area of plastic processing
Experience in the area of circular economy of plastic waste
Experience in specific market segments like automotive, electrical or electronics
Interested in plastic market dynamics
Project management training
