Role purpose:


As the Global HR Business Partner within Group Functions provide strategic HR partnership to senior leaders, their leadership teams and organisations to develop and implement people strategies in support of functional strategies.


Accountabilities:


Strategic partner and coach to the Heads of multiple Group functions including IT/Digital and HR, guiding and implementing People strategies through the following activities:



  • Business Performance 

    • Operating model and organisational effectiveness – lead design and implementation of the operating model including alignment of org structures, processes, decision rights and culture 

    • Leadership Teams – support selection and appointments to leadership teams ensuring diverse mix of leadership and technical expertise, provides individual and team coaching and leadership development

    • Resource alignment- with support of data analytics ensure human resources and capabilities are aligned with the business strategy and growth opportunities, build in agility and productivity 


  • Talent Management

    • Embed robust people management disciplines including talent management and people development at a global level within the functions, and supporting a Syngenta Group wide view of talent and movement of individuals across the organization

    • Leadership Development – Coach and challenge leaders to develop the organizational capability and resources required to enable delivery of their strategy, focusing on leadership team and culture effectiveness. Provide feedback and support to ensure the development of their personal leadership capability

    • Capability building – identify business critical capabilities and develop strategies on acquiring and building them internally 

    • Succession planning and pipeline building – together with function leadership teams build strong actionable succession plans for critical leadership and technical positions with diverse talent pipeline. Continuously and proactively evolve understanding of internal and external talent pipeline for critical capabilities, developing relationships and network in the industry. 


  • Culture 

    • Engagement – create environment and conditions for strong sustainable engagement of all employees by building on Syngenta Backbone, values and leadership commitments. Build confident, open to change, proud and motivated functional communities 

    • D&I – drive for increased diversity in gender, generations, cultures and experiences by creating stronger inclusive culture, visible senior leader engagement and tackling unconscious bias 


  • Change Management

    • Act as vocal and present change champion for large transformations and key change projects. Build individual and organisational change and agile capabilities

    • Partner with leaders and HR peers to embed people centred change management methodologies to enable leadership team development and business transformation

    • Contribute in a global network of HRBP’s working in regions, business and functions in order to share plans, steer delivery of HR projects and functional agenda and deliver coherent and joined up HR service and use this network to drive delivery of organisational change and transformation programs


 

Qualifications

 

Requirements:



  • University degree in Social or Business Studies

  • Good cross-functional knowledge in key corporate functions areas: IT/Digital and HR as well as broader knowledge gained across commercial functions

  • High level understanding of labour legislation in diverse markets

  • Principles of financial management

  • Expertise and experience in agile ways of working

  • Fluent in English

  • Very experienced in HR, with several years in strategic HR positions gained in a mix of country/regional, BU and corporate functions and ideally experience operating at a global level

  • Experience partnering with IT/Digital

  • Experience as Strategic HR Business partner required, experience across other HR areas like organisational development, recruitment, C&B or data analytics preferred

  • Ability to translate business strategy into HR and People initiatives

  • Significant experience leading large scale and complex cross-border organisation design and transformation projects with experience applying agile methodologies and practices

  • Min 5 years international work experience required, experience across both developed and emerging markets preferred

  • Ability to lead and work effectively across disciplines within a matrix environment spread across geographies and cultures
