Description:

 

The Application Engineer is involved in the integration & test of a whole CMM system and its components currently under development by other Hexagon R/D sites. He/she shares his knowledge of customers’ needs and measurement systems in the definition and implementation of the test applications necessary for the integration of new products. He/she identifies any problems in a systematic way and participates in the proposal of adapted solutions with other experts. He/she supports the marketing & service department through his/her participation in the required deliverables (ISO part programs creation, employment cases).

 

 

Main activities :

 

• Participation in projects linked to the integration of sensor products in the HEXAGON group (multi-sites): estimated costs / delays, definition of requirements and acceptance criteria, reporting


• Collecting the constraints, problems and customers’ needs and translating them into customer specifications


• Development of application programs for measuring parts or for ISO


• Studying the validity of customers' measurement process (GRR test, Cpk, Cp)


• Conduct hardware and software product and advanced custom demonstrations introducing technical features and processes


• Keep up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies


• Interfacing with the marketing or service department about their deliverables (application notes, user guide, catalog, training, support)


• Performing root cause analysis / troubleshooting and proposing appropriate short-term and long-term solutions together with the development team.

 

 

Your profile :



• Degree in microengineering, software, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent.


• Experience in integrating new products within the dimensional or precision industry.


• Experience as a test engineer in technical and complex fields including mechanics, electronics, software and possibly optics.


• Knowledge of dimensional measurement specific standards (eg ISO 10360) or similar.


• In-depth experience with three-dimensional measuring machines (CMM) and sensors, especially products from the Hexagon group or equivalents


• Software testing is an asset (unitary, regression testing)


• Good knowledge in the field of measurement / metrology, competitors, and ability to understand customer requests.


• Involvement in innovative projects.


• Language skills: English is a must, French and German are assets


• Excellent communication, business focused, methodological approach, client- and result-oriented, flexible, problem solver, didactic/teaching skills. Travel to be planned.
