20!! More than 20 different and highly innovative modalities are currently investigated and developed in Biotherapeutic Engineering and Gene Therapy (BEGT) group. These diverse modalities are part of Novartis Reimagine Medicine strategy and include therapeutic proteins, multi-specific antibodies, CAR-T, RNA therapeutics, AAV and complex biologics constructs requiring bioconjugation.
We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible team player to join the BEGT group within the NIBR Biologics Center (NBC) in Basel, Switzerland. In this role, you will work in a dynamic and experienced research lab collaborating with global project teams to advance RLT projects focusing on the design, synthesis and characterization of biologics ligands for this innovative modality. In addition, you will contribute to the development of other bioconjugate therapeutics.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Designing, generating and analyzing novel ligands for RLT based on biologics.
• Applying expertise in bioconjugation chemistry, protein handling and purification to improve functionality of novel RLT and other bioconjugate therapeutic modalities.
• Collaborating with and supporting other units in NBC, e.g. screening, protein production & purification and characterization for the selection of required targeting molecules.
• Presenting experimental design, protocols, results and interpretations in lab, unit and project team meetings.
• Collaborating with project teams in decision making to agree on desired deliverables and timelines.
Minimum requirements
What you will bring to the role:
• MS or equivalent in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of laboratory experience in chemistry, preferably protein/bioconjugation chemistry
• Background in recombinant protein expression and purification as well as biophysical characterization of proteins would be a plus
• High degree of independency regarding planning, execution and reporting of experiments
• Excellent oral and written communication in English and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and scientific curiosity.
