Job Description

1 in 5 men and 1 in 6 women worldwide develop cancer during their lifetime according to the World Health Organization. In Oncology Medical Affairs, we are working tirelessly to bring innovative cancer treatments to patients with our presence in four oncology treatment platforms.



The Senior Project and Operations Manager in Oncology Medical Affairs is directly responsible for the planning, operations and execution of all program related activities carried out for the disease area medical teams, working closely with disease team leaders and team members, the Global Group Medical Director (GGMDs), and the Franchise Head.



Accountabilities include all aspects of project and operations management of the Medical Affairs Disease Teams (and Franchise):

• Consultant and strategic partner to GGMDs, managing and owning all operations of the Integrated Disease Medical Team (IDMT) / Global Medical Team (GMT) strategic operations (ie. project plan and budget and tracking, change agent, meetings and minutes etc)

• World Wide Cross-Functional Team (WWXT) management

• Align with other Program/ Project management teams where appropriate within the Oncology Business Unit (e.g. Value and Access, Marketing) and Global Drug Development for execution of yearly business planning activities and best practices

• Coordinate Trial Prioritization for the IDMT and launch excellence (iLEX)

• Ensures Governance/ Risk Management/ Compliance principles and operations are practiced




Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• BS degree. Advanced degree, such as MBA and PMP certification is an advantage. Proficient in English.

• Medical Affairs and end-to-end drug development process understanding/ experience, along with min 8+ years relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably across several fields

• Knowledge of Medical Affairs project management that include IITs, Phase IV studies, Medical Engagement, Market Access (preferred), coupled with drug development project management

• Ability to lead complex global multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams in a matrix organization and excellent communications skills – able to communicate complex information in simple terms

• Strong leadership presence with the ability to present and interact with senior management

• Capable of managing multiple priorities and able to influence decision making and drive project teams for superior results
