This role in particular is part of the Oncology Associate Engagement team (within the larger AE team) and tells the Novartis Oncology story and its BOLD 4 Cure strategy, helping to ensure Novartis is “the place to be” in oncology. The Senior Manager in this team is a strategic thinker and storyteller, and makes a direct contribution to the team’s Big Bold Objective of telling the Novartis Oncology story so that associates are empowered, competitors emulate us, health care professionals respect us and patients trust us. How does the team know it is achieving this objective? Employees know the strategy and see their future. They feel passion to get there (there is no better place to live their purpose than Novartis). They become ambassadors (all encompassing) for Novartis Oncology.
The individual in this role has the opportunity and responsibility to work with teams across AE on above-Oncology programs and projects, as appropriate. Day-to-day, the individual contributes to the proof points above in many different ways but focused in three key areas:
Major Accountabilities
Leads internal communications for Oncology’s product and portfolio milestones
• Is obsessed with the Oncology audience and can create strategic campaigns and plans for product launches, R&D data readouts, platform/franchise progression and business development/licensing milestones
• Working with the team’s other members (director and associate director), creates the overall strategy and plan for several high-profile engagement events, whether face-to-face or virtual, including quarterly town halls, leadership meetings, awards ceremonies, etc.
Supports the Oncology President’s internal communications
• Working in tandem with the team’s director, this individual will provide support for the creation and execution of the Oncology President’s internal messages and internal social posts on yammer
Minimum requirements
• 8-10 years corporate communications experience within a global organization with at least three years’ experience with pharmaceutical products and brands.
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in communications or journalism
• A strategic and analytical thinker who is comfortable challenging ways of working where efficiencies could be realized
• Great at stakeholder management and collaboration across disciplines
• Can manage work by agencies or contractors on as-needed basis
• Digital and tech savvy. Simple graphics and design experience
• Languages - English is a must; German is a plus
