The Position
Your business customers’ mission is to develop products with high medical-value such as instruments, assays and software solutions. A consistent, state-of-the-art approach to the solutions supporting laboratory data management reduces time-to-market and ensures high-quality outcomes. Products and Services in the Research and Lab Execution Value Chain include platforms for pipeline development and algorithm and experiment design, assay design and engineering tools to enable continuous delivery and deployments.
In your position as Product Manager, you will oversee a line of multiple IT products (informatics technology solutions or services) supporting the Diagnostics R&D business customers) within a Product / Business Domain’s mandate.
The Product Manager is accountable for the end-to-end product lifecycle (i.e. from ideation through delivery and support through decommissioning) and ensuring, in partnering with relevant business customers, that the products are fit-for-purpose.
In this role you own and manage key Information technology solutions, enabling business capabilities in the Research and Lab Execution domain, namely applications supporting laboratory data management and tools such as Agilent HPLC and OpenLab CDS. Such systems span early research activities from sample processing, chemistry, biology through complex system integration topics as well as data management aspects. You will also evaluate alternative informatics technologies, research industry best practices and emerging trends, as well as product offerings from external vendors.
In collaboration with your peers and domain lead, you lead a matrixed expert team (product squad) with the focus to deliver and operate a fit-for-purpose IT product line and services to DIA business customers in the area of Research and Lab Execution. Together with this team you work to optimize and implement new ways of working to impact global applications and infrastructure within the scope of product responsibility.
Further main responsibilities include:
Co-create product vision and strategy with business partners, your peers, domain lead and IT experts. You define and shape the long-term product roadmap in conjunction with your business customers
Manage budget for products and associated activities
Responsible for application KPIs and squad OKRs
Identify opportunities to create additional value and improve business outcomes
Manage the full product lifecycle including release management
Define service levels, governance and operational support for products within your portfolio
In collaboration with your Business customer, continuously observe and improve the customer and user experience
Preferred locations for this position are Penzberg (Germany), Kaiseraugst (Switzerland), or Rotkreuz (Switzerland).
Who you are

You have a Bachelor in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree and/or experience, postgraduate qualification at a Master Level is preferred. You bring 7+ years of professional IT experience in a major, global organization. You have an international mindset with clear goal orientation and experience in leading project and/or product teams.
In addition, you bring the following experience and skills::
Experience in working in a regulated environment and with Computer System Validation
Expert knowledge in the area of Research and Laboratory systems, paired with a broad IT background which enables not only to execute related activities but also consult and lead others
Track record of successfully delivered IT products and/or management throughout the application lifecycle
Hands-on experience in agile product delivery is a must (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, DevOps etc.)
Industry-recognized certifications in the relevant area are a plus.
Advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours and to travel for up to 20% of the time including outside of the home country
