Start IT
We are looking for post-graduates with strong interest in technology for our rotational development program Start IT. Over the course of 18 months, you will work in a global cross-functional and also cross-regional setup and you will have the opportunity to contribute to different key IT projects at Roche. In addition to on- and off-the job training you will have the opportunity to rotate to one of our IT-sites in Asia, Europe or America. During the program you are a part of an active network with other current Start IT participants.
Job facts
The purpose of this position is to work together with our internal data science teams to build a knowledge base by connecting data sources from different domains and apply advanced machine learning as well as deep learning techniques (graph neural networks) to generate actionable insights for our business.
Responsibilities
Participate in various data processing activities in their different stages: from data discovery/generation and feature engineering to neural network model building as well as deployment into production
Work with data analysts to identify real-world data sources
Work with data and software engineers to translate prototypes into new products and services
Investigate, analyse and apply comprehensive machine learning algorithms across life science business contexts including research, development, and commercial
Investigate available tools and technologies in Machine Learning and Deep Learning
Support collaboration with third parties including Academia and industry
Who you are
You are a highly motivated self-starter and curiosity is what drives you. You are looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies. You are a strong team player with a pronounced service orientation and proven collaboration and teamwork experience.
Your qualifications
PhD with a strong focus on mathematics, statistics or computer science (Graduation no longer than 2 years ago)
Deep understanding of machine learning theory and practice (feature engineering, regularization, hyperparameter tuning, ensemble methods, neural networks architectures)
Experience with graph analytics and geometric deep learning is a plus
Excellent skills in implementing your ideas (preferably in Python)
Autonomous and responsible; organized and structured in initiatives and work
Readiness to work in uncertainty regarding the resolution of a problem, the existence of means to resolve it and in the absence of precise objectives
You are a quick learner and passionate about continuously developing your skills and knowledge
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment. You are able to interpret and translate very abstract and technical approaches into a healthcare and business relevant solution
You are a strong team player and able to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
You have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with different teams and parties of the organization, such as business, technical and academic partners.
Fluent in two languages, one of which must be English
Further Information
We accept applications until Aug 10th, 2021. Selected candidates will run through a number of interviews. Should these be successful, then you will be invited in September 2021 for final assessment of program eligibility. The start of the program will be in January 2022.
