Value Engineer Mechanics/Electronics Global Direct Procurement

The Position


The Value Engineering Team is a newly established department within the Global Direct Procurement department. We are in the process of establishing this area, which will focus on Should Cost Modelling / Calculation, Value Engineering and Cost Excellence. We are looking for an innovative and team-oriented personality to join our young, dynamic and agile team as soon as possible.


As Value Engineer Mechanics / Electronics, you will be responsible for the following topics in Global Direct Procurement:



  • Sustainably contributing to the quality and profitability of our products by creating price transparency and identifying corresponding cost reduction potentials


  • Preparation of detailed bottom-up calculations of complex mechanical/electronic components in the course of cost-analytical evaluation


  • Independent implementation and coordination of projects (VET Project Management Office)


  • Establishment and further development of our tools and methods for the cost-analytical evaluation of manufacturing technologies/processes and components


  • Analysis of cost structures and value chain or evaluation of functional costs of components in the respective procurement markets in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders


  • Target costing for internal and external products


  • Support and implementation of creativity workshops (VA/VE) and / or supplier negotiations


  • Internal stakeholder management and close cross-functional cooperation with the relevant departments

Requirements:



  • Technical degree as Bachelor or Master of Engineering (B.Eng. / M. Eng.), Bachelor or Master of Science (B.Sc., M.Sc.), graduate engineer, industrial engineer or business economist specializing in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or manufacturing technology with relevant professional experience


  • Interest in technical and business management issues with a focus on cost and process analyses


  • Strong negotiation skills


  • Conceptual, analytical and networked thinking


  • Ability to work in a team, assertiveness and a high level of commitment


  • Strong communication skills at all hierarchical levels


  • Willingness to travel (approx. 20-30%)


  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
