Finance Associate

Web3 Foundation accelerates the development and adoption of the decentralized web. We are a lean team with a flat organisation. You will report into the Chief Finance Officer and will work closely with the finance and operations teams in Zug.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing to ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness


• Manage fiat and crypto payments, including booking and reconciliation of crypto transactions


• Prepare, reconcile and declare Swiss and German VAT statements


• Reconcile Swiss salary and social security accounts


• Support with preparing and participating in annual financial audits


• Review and make suggestions to improve existing financial processes 


• Oversee accounts payable and receivables


• ​​Work closely with members of the Finance team to support various ad-hoc tasks such as budgeting, asset management and reporting

Requirements 

• 3-5 years previous experience in finance and/or accounting


• Apprenticeship (kaufmännische Ausbildung) and further education in accounting or bachelor's degree in a relevant field


• Familiarity with Swiss accounting standards and auditing


• High affinity to tech, advanced MS Excel skills and curiosity towards crypto/Blockchain technology


• Self starter, positive attitude and ability to solve problems with minimal supervision


• Results orientated with a high attention to detail and dedication towards quality and improvement


• Excellent time management and organisational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask


• Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus

A Plus

• Previous experience with Abacus or similar accounting tools


• Familiarity and/or experience with handling crypto wallets, payments and transactions


• Familiarity with or a strong interest in the Web 3.0 movement, blockchain and other decentralized technologies
