Position Summary


 


We at Nestlé Research & Development in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland develop for Nestlé worldwide new products, processes, and packaging concepts in the areas of Dairy and Nutrition.  
 
Within the Product Development Department of NPTC Dairy, and more specifically in the Adult Health & Wellness and Dairy Culinary Solutions team, we are looking for an open-minded and entrepreneurial intern working with us to support our product development projects. This includes development of traditional dairy products such as liquid milk, milk powders, creams, and evaporated milks, but also plant-based alternatives. 


A day in the life of Product Development Intern


 


Give support to development projects under the supervision of Product Development Specialists: 



  • Perform literature and patent search related to the product category 

  • In collaboration with colleagues, define the areas to explore and the experimental trial plan 

  • Plan, prepare and run kitchen/benchtop/prototyping trials and/or pilot plant trials 

  • Organize raw materials, product analytics, release of samples, sensory and keeping quality tests 

  • Participate and organize internal team discussions and regular updates 

  • Document, report and present project results internally to relevant Nestlé colleagues 


What will make you successful


 



  • Master’s degree student in Food Technology/Food Science/Food Engineering requiring first working experience while still enrolled at University during time of the internship 

  • Strong interest in hands-on experience in product development  

  • Proactive and result focus combined with an innovative mindset 

  • Good communication skills and working well in teams  

  • Fluent in English (oral and written), at ease at networking in international environment
