Deputy Head of Risk IT

The Bank for International Settlements has a new vacancy for a Deputy Head of Risk IT within the Risk IT team. This is a leadership role where you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the successful delivery of the Bank’s IT strategy and vision.

Your contribution to our mission:

• You will take responsibility for the current Risk IT stack while also leveraging new technologies to implement and further develop risk measurement IT solutions


• As both a team and technical leader, you will provide direction to your team to ensure continuous delivery while following agile working methodologies


• You will play a leading role in the identification and evaluation of new technologies and the development and implementation for the road map for the Risk IT stack


• In collaboration with IT leaders across the Bank, you will contribute to the Bank’s wider IT strategy and vision from the perspective of Risk IT

Qualification, work experience and skills:

We would like to meet candidates who bring both a leadership and technical skill set demonstrated by professional experience (approximately 10 years) in either software development or architecture related IT roles complimented by recent experience in team management. For this role, we require you to be educated to a degree level in a related discipline and have experience in C#/ .NET full-stack development including modern DevOps solutions, micro-services, containers, WPF/WCF and SQLServer / NoSQL databases.

You will have knowledge of designing, implementing and running IT solutions and prior experience in leading a major infrastructure initiative within a financial services institution. Excellent communication skills are a must alongside the ability to collaborate efficiently and effectively across multiple projects and technology teams while following agile development methodologies. In addition, you will enjoy a team-orientated environment and collaboration with different business areas within an organisation.
