Dev-Ops (Cloud) Engineer

As DevOps Cloud Engineer at Appway, you will join a dynamic team striving to take the Appway Cloud processes to the next level.

You will work in a self-organized team that takes care of deployment, automation, and management of clusters for other engineering teams and customers.  During the daily job, you will interact with people in our different offices around the world and with different expertise.

• Knowledge sharing with the other engineers


• Testing the scripts/code you develop


• Presenting work to other teams and stakeholders


• Evaluating new tools to improve our development pipeline

Main Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the design and implementation of Appway Cloud Installation architecture


• Responsible for the update and evolution of cloud procedures and playbook


• Manage and continuously improve environments efficiency (performance vs cost) and reliability


• Define and adopt new tools to reduce the effort needed to run cloud initiatives

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or comparable title


• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience


• Experience building and deploying Amazon Cloud Services cloud-based infrastructure (Solution Architect certification is a plus)


• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation or ARM Templates) and provisioning management languages (Puppet)


• Scripting ability with Bash or other languages like Python or Ruby.


• Containers: good knowledge of Docker, Kubernates, Apache Mesos, etc


• Application Servers: Knowledge of at least one Java Application Server (Tomcat preferred)


• RDBMS: Experience in RDBMS such as Postgres, Oracle, SQLServer and/or MySQL


• Monitoring: knowledge of environment monitoring systems (Grafana, Prometheus, etc.)


• Knowledge of popular logging aggregation tools (e.g. ELK stack)

• Ability to work in a highly collaborative Agile team.


• Demonstrated aptitude and desire to learn new skills.


• Excellent written & verbal English skills

Preferred: 

• Programming: Good understanding of object oriented languages (Java, C# or Python)


• Any other language skills is an asset
