Global Benefit Finance & Pension Lead

POSITION OBJECTIVES:



  • Responsible for overseeing the finances within Global Benefits to ensure accurate financial management and compliance in all countries where Takeda operates

  • Manages all finances related to global pension management, benefits financial planning and analysis, M&A support, and medical insurance plans including identification of financial risk with specific accountability on retirement/pension obligations globally

  • Oversees internal accounting procedures as they relate to administration of global benefits

  • Is liaison between Total Rewards and Finance regarding pensions and benefits-related financial matters


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports all benefits finance obligations globally.  Partners with Head of Benefits (US, Japan and RoW), HR Business Partners, Finance, and Legal to ensure compliance

  • Working with Head of Benefits (US, Japan, RoW) provides detailed financial analysis, reviews and reporting on all benefit plans

  • In coordination with the Head of Global Benefits, responsible for governance and administration of retirement plans (both defined benefit and defined contribution) globally. Liaise with finance and third-party vendors to ensure accurate reporting and upkeep.

  • Lead financial, strategic and statistical analysis involved in designing, developing and managing benefit and retirement programs.

  • Coordinate audit activities with external auditors as well as regulatory/tax authorities.

  • In conjunction with finance, coordinate the review, design and monitoring of fringe benefit accounting process with an initial focus on the top 10 countries.

  • Oversees or manages consultants that provide actuarial valuations on global basis

  • Conducts financial and strategic planning, monitors variance against the budget, evaluates opportunities and risks, and implements cost control measures

  • Creation and maintenance of various reporting dashboards providing value-added, insightful reporting and analysis for senior management

  • Supports the strategic planning, decision-making, costing, project management, and financial planning/analysis, by establishing and recommending operating procedures, major schedules and task assignments within area of responsibility

  • Conducts budgetary planning with a focus on cost effectiveness and control


EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS



  • College degree and 8+ years of experience in benefits finance with an emphasis on pension design, funding and asset management

  • Preference for MBA and/or quantitative degree, e.g. Actuarial Science

  • Prior global pension consulting experience desired

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Superior Excel skills required; ability to analyze and create data dashboards required


TRAVEL and Additional REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to safeguard sensitive information and maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to occasionally (less than 15% of time) travel domestically and internationally required

  • Ability to hear and speak to employees and outside business associates on the phone and in person

  • Ability to see the letters and numbers on a screen and on documents

  • Requires moderate right- and left-hand coordination for the use of a computer
