Summary


The EMEA Senior Marketing Director, Sports Medicine (SPM) is responsible for directing efforts on leading, planning, and executing downstream marketing strategies (70% downstream, 30% upstream) and tactics required to drive sustained revenue growth and market share gain in the highly competitive EMEA SPM Market. The successful candidate will be a strong people leader and will actively contribute to leading the SPM Business towards continued growth and organizational development under the changing environment requiring different ways of addressing customers' needs, while building best-in-class marketing capabilities. This position is highly visible internally and externally.


Essential Job Functions



  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the SPM market landscape: market trends, customer priorities, and competitive landscape to shape and lead with our go to market approach

  • Responsible for developing and executing go to market plans for Product Portfolio including communication strategy, medical education, channel management, inventory requirement and allocation.

  • Responsible to working in a close partnership with Digital Health Team to develop and implement digital marketing activities and services relevant to SPM

  • Responsible for developing and executing commercial plans that include segmentation & targeting, value proposition, regional pricing strategy, Challenger based key messaging, market analysis, competitive analysis, promotional planning, trade show strategy, sales tool development, and a revenue for each product category.

  • Lead a monthly review of progress and updates for the Supply Chain, Global Marketing and other relevant supporting functions as required.

  • Play an active interface role with Global Marketing, R&D and other relevant organisations to feed in EMEA business needs and requirements

  • Work with Commercial Operations team to develop tools and resources to support their efforts on the product portfolio management

  • Deploy pricing guidelines into local markets, manage pricing exceptions process, and provide geography-specific input into pricing decisions.

  • Recommend potential reference sites, assist with site relationship management, elevate solicited interest from sites to Global Clinical and Health Evidence to develop EMEA Clinical Plan

  • Participate in the annual strategic business planning process for EMEA, partnering with key stake holders at global, regional & local level (i.e marketing, sales management, medical education, sales training, digital health, and supply chain) to create integrated franchise short- and long-term commercial plan. Annually present commercial plans to the Senior Leadership team.

  • Create and monitor key performance indicators in EMEA and lead the remediation effort to drive deeper market penetration of beachhead products

  • Partner with EMEA Commercial Operations Team to define and implement effective targeting, develop physician champions, and gather input to drive marketing decisions supports industry educational meetings and events, on-site customer meetings and labs, national sales meeting and other strategic meetings.

  • Cultivates relationships with key customers, internal stakeholders and the sales organization


Requirements



  • Experience in a marketing leadership role preferably in the SPM/Orthopaedics or med tech market

  • Bachelor's degree, in Business or Marketing/Marketing qualification is required. Master’s/MBA degree preferred.

  • Strong leadership, motivation and team building skills

  • Strategic thinker with ability to anticipate future issues; Ability to anticipate and identify business needs that can drive value  

  • Willingness to “roll up sleeves” to perform at all levels and assist in areas outside of core responsibilities

  • Highly collaborative with ability to meet needs of multiple stakeholders

  • High energy and engaging; Ability to build relationship and influence across a regional and global organization

  • Excellent, confident communication skills with the ability to communicate with and present to audiences at every level

  • Proven aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and project management skills are critical to success

  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with a sense of urgency

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Understanding of competitive products and go to market models is a plus

  • Understanding of direct and in-direct sales channels is a plus
