Job Responsibilities


As a technical project manager, you will work together with the technical product owner to ensure high quality and on-time execution of individual work-packages, while also supporting in the costing and definition of future activities within the development. The responsibilities will share many similarities with those of a scrum master, although adapted to our workflow for antenna development.


Specific responsibilities include:


Planning



  • Work with the team and product owner to provide initial work-package estimates.

  • Build up the development schedule based on the product owner’s prioritisation and the team’s capacity.

  • If needed flag and secure non-core team resource (specialists or overflow resource to meet the objectives).

  • Identify risk and opportunities at the individual work-package level

  • Coordinate, with the team, the refinement of larger work-packages into executable detailed plans

Executing



  • Facilitate the daily team stand-ups

  • Monitor evolution of risks during the execution

  • Monitor, and if necessary update, the detailed work-package plan, while ensuring to remain within the agreed scope.

  • Help the team by eliminating impediments

  • Shield the team from outside pressure

  • Ensure resource remains committed and protect the team of over-committing to other parallel requests

Reporting



  • Report to the product owner on weekly progress

  • Prepare biweekly planning updates, advertising how the short term roles into the long term.


Ideal candidate


The ideal candidate will have charismatic personality to help keep the team motivated while also being firm enough to shield the team from being over-committed. Training as a scrum master, or familiarity with agile and lean development principles is a bonus.


As our developments are working on the cutting edge of a very technical domain, it is also preferred that the candidate have a technical background sufficient for them to understand the work of the team in the antenna development. Prior experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of electrical, RF and mechanical engineers is a desired.



Requirements



  • 3+ years of project management / scrum master

  • 3+ years of technical engineering background in hardware or firmware

  • Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams through multiple phases of the product development and service life-cycle.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline

  • Swiss Citizenship, EU (27) Citizenship, or Valid Swiss Work Permit


Preferences



  • Familiarity with agile and lean development methodologies

  • Antenna systems development experience

  • Familiarity with JIRA
